Merry Christmas

Week 15: December 5-9, 2016

Thank you all for the sweet gifts, kind words and warm hugs. You have been a blessing this year. I hope and pray that everyone has a wonderful break celebrating the birth of Jesus. Be blessed. Stay safe. I’ll see you back here on January 6, 2020!!

If you are in the area over the weekend leading up to Christmas I invite you to join the church in celebrating the birth of Jesus in one of the candlelight services. They are each evening from Saturday through Christmas Eve. See www.tlc.org for exact times!

School Happenings:

  • December 21-January 5 – No School – Christmas Break

Homework Over Break:

  • Get your President biography or autobiography to be approved on January 6, 2020. DO NOT READ IT UNTIL IT IS APPROVED!!!
  • Finish the experiment part of your science fair project (you can also work on the paper and the board!! The whole thing is due Monday, January 13, 2020!
  • Do your AR reading! Meet your goal plus 25% by January 15 to get into the party!

How to Graph In Google Docs

Part of the science fair requirements includes having a graph, table or chart. This can be something they hand draw if they are more comfortable. However, there is a way to create it in google classroom and then just paste into the document they are writing. Here is a youtube clip that is easy to follow and will help if you are wanting to help your student create a graph that way!

Enjoy!!

Quarter 2: December 16-20, 2019

Merry Christmas! Just one more week until we all get to take a break and celebrate the birth of our King, Jesus! I hope each of you stays safe and healthy over the break!

This week we have several fun Christmas activities happening. On Tuesday we will be making ornaments in class. Please be sure your student does NOT wear their favorite shirt that day (just in case it gets a little messy!). Wednesday we have our annual Christmas concert. It starts promptly at 2:15 in the main auditorium (church sanctuary). All students will be dismissed from their pew. Please be sure I make eye contact with you and your student gives me a high five before you take them to go get a cookie and some cocoa! Finally, we will be celebrating as a class on Friday afternoon. Please have your student bring a gift that is suitable for a boy or girl and costs $5 or less! We already have a few gifts under the tree and the students are getting so excited!!

This week the students will be making their requests for the President they want to read a biography about. One strategy I give them to decide which presidents to request is to interview parents, grandparents and/or siblings. Be prepared to say who your favorite president is and why! Requests will be due in class on Thursday, December 19. I will email over the weekend to tell you which president your student needs a biography or autobiography of. They will NOT be reading it over the break! They need to have it in class on January 6th for me to approve!! Thank you for your help!

Friday the 20th the students will be running the mile in PE. Please be sure they are wearing good running shoes and have a bottle of water ready to go!!
