Quarter 3 Week 4: February 19-22

Thank you all so much for the sweet gifts and cards for Valentine’s day. I felt very loved. I hope you all are having some fun in this wet, wet weekend. We sure need the rain, but I do prefer my California sun!

This Thursday, please join us in celebrating the amazing things your students have been up to. Our classroom will have several pieces of their work on display. The STEAM room will be showing what all the students (K-8) have been up to. And there will be an art show of all the students (K-5) from this year. Along with all this, you may walk around and check out what your kids will be working on next year in sixth grade! The Open House is Thursday, February 21, from 7-8 PM.

Check-in three for the ACSI selections went smoothly this week! Just two more check-ins and we will be ready to determine who will represent us at the school speech meet. Please continue helping your student work on their selection at home!

  • January 31: Selection is chosen and broken into 4 parts for memorizing
  • February 7: 1/4 of the selection memorized
  • February 14: 1/2 of the selection memorized
  • February 21: 3/4 of the selection memorized
  • February 28: whole selection memorized and working on polishing it
  • The week of March 4-8: in-class speech meet (for grade and for possible all school candidate)

School Happenings:

  • February 15-18: No School nor crosswalk for Presidents Weekend
  • February 21: Open House all are welcome!
  • February 22: 1/2 Day (Pick up is noon, Crosswalk is until 6)
  • March 6: Field Trip to the Courthouse (Permission Slips have been emailed)

DUE DATES:

  • Tuesday 19: Math, missing assignments, unfinished classwork*
  • Wednesday 20: Math,  missing assignments, unfinished classwork*
  • Thursday 21: Math, Bible workbook, 3/4 of selection memorized, spelling sort, historical comic strip, missing assignments, unfinished classwork*
  • Friday 22: Math, vocabulary packet, CTQ’s, spelling word work, missing assignments, unfinished classwork*

*Unfinished classwork could include math, spelling, writing, history, science, reading, etc. … please check the planners nightly.
