May 29-June 1, 2018

What a great wax museum! I was so proud of all of you and everyone was very impressed as well. Thank you for all your hard work and faithfulness to present the word of God clearly!

There are only 7 days of school left in fifth grade! We have almost made it! This next week is a fun week where we get to learn from the students about the states they have been studying for the past 6 weeks. We will start presentations on Tuesday, so please be sure your student brings their whole project on Tuesday morning.

We also will be summing up our science and health lessons with a hike on Wednesday. Please be sure your students bring water, a snack and wear great walking/hiking shoes on Wednesday. I look forward to learning from our nature guide and being out in this beautiful land with the students!

Finally, the talent show is coming up. Thank you for all those who sent their video, music or plans for on the stage. It is going to be a great show! Q 4 W 7: May 21-25, 2018

Only a few more weeks and fifth grade will be finished. As we near the end it is good to take a look back at all the growth not just academically but emotionally,  physically and spiritually as well. I am so proud of our kids and am so excited to see how God will use them in the future!

The Annual Wax Museum is coming! I love to see these kids move from learners to teachers as they prepare to teach the younger students about the wonderful men and women in the Old Testament. I have been telling the class that the costumes should be simple. Please don’t go out and purchase anything fancy! A robe, sheet or large piece of fabric will work great. If you have an old dress up box (or in my case, a suitcase) and have old costume pieces, wigs, jewelry or the like by all means use that. But please, don’t go purchase something that you won’t use again!

For the talent show, all the stage performers need to have their video, music or script to me by Tuesday, May 22. The videos or stage performances each need to be 60-90 seconds in length (or as close to that as possible). We have so much talent in this class, but we all want to get to the most important part…the promotion (no, not the ice cream!).

Speaking of ice cream, we will be asking each child to bring one topping that they love. We won’t have a sign-up sheet for it. If all kids love only chocolate sauce then we will have all chocolate sauce! I love making them happy!

Finally, this is a friendly reminder that the big state report is due May 29th. Please check in with your student to be sure they have met all the requirements on the rubric they were given! I am looking forward to seeing their creations and hearing all about their fantastic states!
