Week 32 April 25-29

It’s week 32. There is only 29 days of school left. It is awesome to sit back and reflect on the year and how each student has grown. They are nearly middle schoolers.

Items your students need:

The kids need to bring some colored pencils for Social Studies. We are going to do several maps in this unit and we need colored pencils.

Week 31: April 18-22

This is the week of our yearly school wide assessments. Our class will begin assessments each day between 8:45 and 9:00. They will have all their regular pull outs and recess times. Please be sure your student is on time each day. Also be sure to feed them a protein rich breakfast, pack a healthy snack and get them to bed early each night. This is a fun week, yet can be stressful, so rest and healthy eating is a must.

There is a special concert on Monday afternoon we will be attending. The UCSC’s Banana Slug Band will be performing at our school from 2-2:30. You are welcome to join us in this exciting treat!

Homework this week will be very light. The students should have plenty of time to accomplish their work in class. At most they may have a little reading and response writing for book club.

Week 30 April 11-15

 

We are in the new classroom. It was a wild and crazy move this week, but it was awesome!! Thank you for all the support!

The next two weeks are busy around here! Next week we will have the Language Arts Unit Tests. Please be sure your student has a charged chromebook. The next week we will also be having our Terra Nova tests.

Week 29 April 4-8, 2016

Welcome to the fourth quarter of fifth grade! This is this is the big quarter! This is the quarter to really get these kids ready to take on middle school with full force! I am excited by the things we will be working on this quarter!

I took a peek into our classroom this weekend. The white boards are up. The projector is up. I even have a desk! It looks like a big move will be happening very soon. If you have some good moving boxes that you would like to share with us that would be greatly appreciated!
