Proverbs 3New International Version (NIV)

Wisdom Bestows Well-Being

It’s a New Quarter! (January 19-22)

One of the things I love about school is the quarter system! Every nine weeks we get to hit the reset button and start again. We have just hit the reset button. Everyone starts Tuesday morning with 100% of their work done and turned in! Everyone has straight A’s!

There are other changes that are happening in the third quarter. Cursive will be the key. We will be doing all spelling, writing, science and social studies in cursive. Some of our kids are still getting some letters confused. Please remind them to check the cursive chart at the back of the room. And have them practice at home!

Another change that is being implemented this quarter is the late work grading policy. From now on, all late work will be given 10% less for each day that it is late. For example, if an assignment is worth 10 points, even if they do the assignment perfectly, will be given a 9 after one day late, an 8 after 2 days late and so on. If your student is absent, the assignment will not be considered late until one full day for each day absent. If they are absent on a Monday the assignments are due without late penalty on Wednesday. If they are absent Monday through Wednesday, the work will be due Monday without late penalty.
