Merry Christmas!

I do hope everyone is planning a fun filled, yet relaxing Christmas break! I know I am looking forward to some sleeping in, playing with y kids and puppies and seeing my parents.

Although I totally understand the desire to forget all about school during Christmas break, there are a few things we need to be aware of.

  • When we return in January there will only be 2 more weeks in the quarter. Christmas break is a great time for us to get caught up on missing work from this quarter. I am sending the red folders home with the list of any missing work your child has. Please help them get caught up on these pages. Email me as soon as you can if you can’t find them and I will email it to you.
  • President Book needs to be chosen and brought to class on Monday January 4. Today they were given their President to find a book about. THEY ARE NOT TO START READING!! Please, just help them find a book at the library (or purchase one, if you prefer) in their reading level. If you have questions, email me as soon as you can. One way to find a title of the book before going to the library is to google the president’s name. There is then a tab titled books. Click there and it will list all the books about your president. If you are having a hard time finding a book in your child’s reading level let me know as soon as possible and I will see what I can do to help!
  • Science Fair Project is due the week after we get back from break. Christmas break is the perfect time to run the trials and note the outcomes!

As usual, reading, math facts practice and typing practice are always great ways to keep our minds fresh and growing during these long breaks!

Blessings to you and your family!

Mendy

Week 15 (December 7-11)

Every year I love getting Christmas cards and letters from family and friends. But every year my husband and I laugh because almost all of them start with “Time flies when you’re having fun” or “This has been a full and fun year” and etc. I am giggling now because that is exactly how I feel about this school year. 15 weeks ago we were strangers and now we are a family. 15 weeks ago seems like just yesterday and yet a lifetime ago. This has been a busy and fast school year so far! And this month is even more full!

Cookies Needed

We have an awesome opportunity to earn money towards furniture for the new building, but we need your help. We are asking for two dozen baked goods from each family of our school. If you are able to bake and bring cookies, brownies, rice crispie treats, or any other single item baked good for our sale please go to http://www.tcs.org and find the link to sign up. The items need to be brought to the school next Friday (December 11th) in the morning. If you’d like to volunteer time to help sell the items, please contact the school office as soon as you can!

Thanks!
